"Viva Ze Bool!"- Token Quote from Rose Madder
Every voracious reader of course, has heard of the renowned Stephen King and his abundance of talented works, though I feel most readers apt to go for his more publicized or glamourized novels. Those pieces are wonderful as well, but often cause readers to miss out on many of his hidden gems like this novel here. Rose Madder is an over indulgent, emotional roller coaster of a title. The book starts off following "Rosie Real" as she faces a hard decision one afternoon. She is reminiscing lying on the living room floor, peering up at her husband with shocked disbelief. Blood spilling all around her in a pool. Should she succumb and remain complacent in this never ending hell she is living within? Or turn her heels to face a long harsh road, full of trials and tribulations? Nevertheless, she sets off, and with that embarks on several adventures(mentally as well as physically)that introduce her to sides of her she failed to embrace prior, or even realize she had. A true story of courage, confidence, and the long healing path back to self-love. I believe that my female king readers will chiefly appreciate this one due to the strength that Rosie's required to muster up to face her greatest fear; Norman. A blunt in-depth depiction of how physically gruesome and mentally draining domestic violence can actually become, this novel can get quite ugly at times. I especially enjoyed how well King adopted the mindset of both the male abuser's psychotic thoughts and tendencies as well as the female's victim. Also.. the extent of savagery mentioned was pretty... well repulsive but, it was also very necessary to me and created a lot of accuracy and dimension. There also weren't any parts of this book that I felt lagged or were nagging to trudge through, which I really favored. I would give this book a 4.5 star rating and I highly recommend it to true King fans, and all other visceral thriller readers as well. I promise, you won't be disappointed!

What an amazing review! Perhaps this novel could be used by investigators building behavior profiles. Either way, I may check it out (I don't read much horror stuff xD)
