Journal Entry 2

We're constantly obsessing over the ability to maintain dominance in every single aspect of our lives. To most of the peeping prospectors out there it may very well seem, as though we humans exercise this quality innately; a subconscious, primal response. You know how the sayings go. Survival of the fittest, only the strongest shall prosper-all that mumbo-jumbo, big balls, bull-shit, but to others derived of a more punctilious nature, it can arguably appear as meticulously planned, malicious intent. This could very well reign true. Everything, from what we ingest, how we dress, where we live, careers that we choose to endeavor upon, and our positions within those aforementioned occupations; down to the person or people we choose to lie beside each and every night. These ethereal expeditions of late can't help but lead me to conjecture...If people are this ruthless and unrefined, what are the basic morale of the unknown spectators that are silently watching? Are they careful conspirators who are plotting? Perhaps even watching our frothy, puerile, inconsequential lives is like enjoying a series on Animal Planet, or Nat-Geo, to them. I can't help now, but constantly wonder how other organisms in the spectrum may view us. Senseless? Chaste creatures of competition? I'd go even as far as to say entitled. Beings that prance around, blissfully unaware of the impact their glutinous self-destructive properties can create. Ingrates, who fail to realize the possibilities of the abundant gold mine that they have been chosen to inhabit. How exactly are they just peering in, anyway? Is it through some sort of binocular device, or maybe, it's some strange, enlarged, variation for their version of a magnifying glass. They could teleport...or even dream their way there. After all, that IS how I keep managing to wake up in Neverland. Hell, for all I know, they could be crossing the Terabithian Bridge and conferring with the Evil Queen's magic mirror to bestow this Earth's image. Regardless of the fact, the method as to how they're managing this accomplishment, is about as trivial as are their opinions pertaining to our species. The key question here, or as Mum would say, the money question is When? When are they coming, if not already in piercing pursuit. More importantly, what will this mean for us? For my family? For me...

  1. Existentialism strikes hard sometimes. Makes you wonder if "civilization" is genuinely civil. Rather, a rotten egg with gold polish. Beautifully articulated.
